Good Eats to Hello Eaters

Image
Hello Eaters!!!   Years ago, in another life, 23-year-old me didn’t really cook.  I’d grown up around it—I helped my mom and my grandma in the kitchen—but it wasn’t something I had picked up for myself yet. One night after work, I was flipping through channels and landed on a little show called Good Eats.  It wasn’t like anything I’d seen before. It was cooking… but also science. Half recipe, half experiment. Mr Wizard meets Cooking Show. The host, Alton Brown, had this way of making food feel approachable—explainable—like something you could actually figure out if you just paid attention.  And for whatever reason… that stuck.  I started trying things. Cooking more. Paying attention to how and why things worked. What started as curiosity turned into something I genuinely loved.  That’s where Hello Eaters came from.  It was never meant to be anything big—just a place to document what I was learning, what I was cooking, and what I was enjoying...

Hello Eaters!!! Life changes. It throws curveballs, and sometimes, we have to step away from the things we love. That’s exactly what happened with Hello Eaters—what started as a passion for sharing my culinary adventures had to take a backseat for a while. After a long (very long!) break, I’m thrilled to announce that Hello Eaters is back and better than ever and I couldn’t be more excited! If you’ve been here since the beginning, welcome back! And if you’re new—get ready for a delicious adventure.                 A lot has changed since my last post in 20 14, but one thing hasn’t—my love for food and storytelling. I can’t wait to share this next chapter with you. Tell me—what’s one dish or ingredient you’d love to see featured in 2026? Drop your thoughts in the comments! Here’s to new adventures, great meals, and plenty of misadventures along the way. Let’s eat! – D
